Desert Essence 100% Pure Jojoba Oil Review

My hair is currently having a very dry spell and it gets quite hard to find a suitable shampoo and conditioner that can really help them turn brittle and break. In the end I resorted to try jojoba oil to see whether it can help my dry ended hair. Pure jojoba oil is hard to find in this country so I had to purchase it online with the help of a spreer in Lowyat Forum. I bought Dessert Essence 100% Pure Jojoba Oil which can be used for skin, scalp and hair.

The Desert Essence 100% Pure Jojoba Oil is a pure and natural plant extract that will penetrate and moisturize skin without leaving any oily residue. This luxurious oil can be used to remove makeup and to cleanse clogged pores, leaving the skin clean. Soften your hands and feet by massaging them with Jojoba Oil after bathing. Treat your hair and scalp to a rejuvenating massage with Jojoba Oil - especially good for moisturizing the scalp and to prevent dry skin or dandruff. This makes it suitable for even the most sensitive skin. May be used as a leave in hair treatment or as an aftershave moisturizer.

Packaging: The jojoba oil comes in a 4 fl. oz. (118 ml) clear plastic pet bottle with a green screw on cap that has a push down tab. The label pasted on the front of the bottle consists of a logo and the product's name. The back of the label is printed with product information and list of ingredient.
The bottle of 100% Pure Jojoba Oil.

The cap with a push down tab.

There is only one ingredient in this product which is Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil.
Only one ingredient listed on the back label.

Texture: The jojoba oil is translucent yellow and very runny. It does not have any smell to it. Because of the runny texture, the oil spills and drips easily when poured out of the bottle cap so it is better to have some tissue nearby. I usually pour out some oil onto my palm, then rub the oil between both palms together and then rub them onto my hair especially the dry ends. I would repeat this a few times and then leave it on for a couple of hours before taking a shower and shampoo my hair. The oil do leave an oily feel on my fingers.

The pure jojoba oil ready to be used.

I tried putting some of the oil on my lips and it did help soften and moisturize my lips. I didn't try to use it on my skin though since my skin is naturally oily.

My verdict: The Jojoba Oil did help moisturize the dry ends of my hair. I did notice when I use some of the drying shampoos and conditioner after treating my hair with Jojoba Oil, my hair is less dry. I would definitely repurchase this again to help keep my hair soft and moisturized.
