Vichy's Normaderm Refine - Total Pore Resurfacing Essence Review

I have large pores and my skin is oily so I am prone to breakout and blemishes. Yup, it's so troublesome, I know. Because of that, I am always attracted to products that promises to shrink pores and control my oil glands so that my skin can become oil-less and have a more refined looking pores. So when I was flipping through a magazine and stumbled upon an ad about Vichy's Normaderm Refine - Total Pore Resurfacing Essence, I was convinced that I really need to try out this miracle product. Ah - the power of advertising!

I bought a tube at a Guardian's outlet in Alamanda for RM100++ (long time purchase, now I don't remember the price anymore). I was hoping that Vichy had a trial size for sale but unfortunately there was none at that time. So, I went ahead and bought the full sized tube.

The Normaderm Refine comes in a green plastic tube with a screw-on cap. The label is printed directly onto the tube and the back of the tube does not list the ingredients. I threw out the box and the leaflet so I cannot list the ingredients here in my review (so sorry). The tube weighs 30 ml.

The back of the tube.

Directions to use: Apply daily morning and/or evening on full face before your daily moisturizer within your Normaderm routine (hint hint: they want you to use their whole range).

The cap unscrews to reveal a narrow point outlet for the essence to flow out of the tube.

The essence has the texture like a soft lotion and has an opaque off-white colour. It feels cool when applied on skin and absorbs easily leaving no sticky feeling. My skin felt soft and supple after application. One thing that bothers me is the smell which is quite pungent and flowery.

Effect: After a few hours my skin felt oily and uncomfortable. It is a clear cut sign that the product is not suited for my skin because I had breakouts from using the essence.

My Verdict: As nice as the description the product had, it still did not help my skin from being oily and my pores to get smaller. Am I going to repurchase? Nope, not going to purchase again. This is an entirely waste of money.. huhu..

Where to purchase: You can get this at any Guardian or Watsons outlet.
