W.S Badger Headache Soother Balm Review

I get headaches a lot and most of the time my headache turns into full fledged migraine which left me incapable of doing anything else. So, any products that promises to relieve headaches attract me especially if there's peppermint listed in the ingredients. When I stopped by at ISetan KLCC, I saw W.S Bagder tin balms neatly arranged on a shelf at the baby section. I was kind of intrigued because there were a lot of balm types created almost for every occasion and situation packed in colourful round tins. They also have lip balms and lip tints too! I couldn't resist them so I picked up a few balms in the round tins and a tube of lip balm.
My W.S Badger haul.

For this post, I am going to do a review on the Headache Soother Balm which comes in a round tin in blue. The tin weighs 1 oz (28 g). It has a cute illustration on the lid where a badger is resting against a tree  beside a waterfall with its eyes covered. The bottom of the tin is printed with instruction on how to use the balm and list of ingredients.

Usage instruction: massage onto temples, neck, forehead, hands, or anywhere you feel a bit tense. Expect a calming, cooling sensation, silky smooth skin, nice aroma, and a sense of relaxed well-being.

List of ingredients: *extra virgin olive oil, *beeswax, castor oil, essential oil of *lavender, *menthol crystals, essential oils of *peppermint, *mandarin, eucalyptus globulus, sandalwood, and CO2 extract of *candelula & *rosehip. (all marked * is certified organic).

The balm looked very solid and has a yellowish tint to it. The surface looked hard and waxy but once it is touched, it softened up to body temperature and the balm transferred easily onto my finger. The warmed up balm has a slightly oily and sticky feel. It took quite some time for the balm to be fully absorbed into the skin after massaging it in, but once it does, the oily and sticky feeling is gone. There is a slight minty feeling but it is very subtle, I almost did not notice it.

The Headache Soother balm has a very nice and calming scent of peppermint and lavender. Sometimes mixture of peppermint and lavender scents does not really go well together but in this balm it really does. When breathed in deeply, the minty lavender scent gave me a calming and relaxing feeling. I practically bring this everywhere I go especially to the office and whips out the tin to breathe in the soothing scent every time I get a headache (which happens to be A LOT!). I do notice that the tightness in my head loosened up a bit whenever I breathed in the minty and relaxing scent. Even my skeptical husband uses this once in a while when he get headaches. Hehe..

Can you see the subtle shine on my skin? The balm is fully massaged into my skin but yet fully absorbed.

My verdict: I really like the balm because the soothing scent of peppermint and lavender does help relieve a bit of my headache. I would not say that this really cures headaches but as the name says, it is a recommendable balm for soothing headaches. I definitely would repurchase this again.

You can check out W.S Bagders products at their official website.
I bought mine for RM52 at ISetan KLCC.
