Yves Rocher Sebo Specific Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser Review

Just like any other girl, I sometimes like to try out new skin care regime just because I got bored with using the same ones over and over again. But most of the times those new products turns out to be unsuitable for my very finicky skin. I have oily combination skin, so naturally I'd scout for products that can curb my over active oil glands and keep my skin clean and clear. A friend of mine swore by Yves Rocher's Sebo Specific cleanser and recommended me to try it out. Being a product junkie, I went to Alamanda to pick up a bottle.

Description from website: With its special soft texture, Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser is the primary purifying gesture, so vital for oily and combination skins. Combined with the Botanical Flavonoids Complex, its exfoliating microparticles eliminate all traces of impurities and gently clear the pores. Its exfoliating micro-particles gently cleanse the epidermis. The skin breathes again, it is visibly healthy, clean and fresh.

Packaging: The cleanser comes in a translucent green triangular plastic pet bottle with a silver coloured screw on cap. The product weighs 150 ml. The mouth of the bottle is quite large giving the cleanser easy access to flow out from the bottle.

The wide mouth of the bottle makes it easy to pour out the cleanser.

Usage instruction: Use morning and evening with water, avoiding the eye contour. Rinse thoroughly.

Ingredients: Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Propylene Glycol, Urea, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Cocoyl Isothionate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Polyethylene, PEG-30 Glyceryl Laurate, Xanthan Gum, Parfum, Tetrasodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Allantoin, Sodium Hydroxide, Hexyl Cinnamal, Scutellaria Baicalensis Extract, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, CI 19140, CI 42090.
Usage instruction and list of ingredients can be found on the back of the bottle.

Texture: The cleanser has a slightly runny gel-like texture and is translucent green in colour. It felt slightly cool when applied on the skin. It does not foam up and the exfoliating particles are very fine that I can't actually see it but I definitely can feel it as I scrub the cleanser gently on my face. It rinses off with water and leaves my skin feeling refreshed, clean and soft. The cleanser is indeed gentle and there is no tight feeling after my skin had dried.
Pea-sized dollop of cleanser for my whole face.
This is the only amount of foam I got from the pea-sized dollop.

Scent: The cleanser has a very pleasant subtle leafy scent that gives a calming sense as I cleanse my face. I really like the smell because it is really refreshing and reminds me of natural things.

My verdict: I really like this cleanser because it made my skin felt really clean and fresh. It didn't give me any blemishes the first 2 months I've used it but my face began to break out into the 3rd month. I wasn't sure whether it's because of the product or my hormonal change that caused it. I think hormones had a hand in it because the product worked fine for the first 2 months. So now I use this a few times a week when I want to exfoliate my skin. Would I repurchase this? I'm on the fence about this one cause I tend to get bored with skincare products fast.
