Oden at Aeon Jusco

Seeing people ate oden makes me curious to try some. I went to Aeon Jusco today and bought some to try out. They have a RM5 promo where you buy 4 pieces of the fish ball and fish cake combo, another piece will be given for free. Yayy!

The soup tasted a bit sourish and l can smell lemon grass. Basically like a tom yum soup base. The fish cake is nice and soft with cheese in the middle (what a nice suprise).

The fish ball is soft and bouncy. Easy to bite.
The extra piece I got was crab stick wrapped in tofu skin and there is a sliver of seaweed in the midlle of it. The tofu skin is a bit tough but the crab stick is okay.

Overall, i guess the taste is mild, maybe a score of 3 out of 5. I will have more to comment when i try out more odens from other shops.

Ice Cream

The hot summer weather makes you long for something soothing and cooling. The bestest treat would be ice cream.

I ate the Walls Asian Delight Coconut bar.  The ice cream is actually creamy and not overly sweet. There are bits of coconut flesh in the ice cream so you get bits of it in every bite. The taste is quite refreshing.

Also from the same series is the mango ice cream. The creamy mango is refreshing with bits of mango flesh in every bite. Like the coconut ice cream, thia one is not too sweet.

The iconic snack..... Pocky

This iconic snack is a must when school is over and while waiting for the school bus to pick me up. Back then the name was Rocky and sometime in 2014 the name was changed to Pocky, to adapt the globalisation.

Each box is 40g and consists of biscuit sticks coated with dips. I got chocolate, almond, double choc, cookies & cream and cendol to try out.

1. The chocolate flavour tastes of chocolate (hehehe). However the chocolate ia a bit sweet. Will taste great with tea, green tea or other less sweet drinks to balance out the sweetness. I always have a packet of this to snack in my car in case I got stuck in a traffic jam.

2. The cookies & cream taste very mild. The colour of the biscuit stick is also a bit darker than the chocate flavoured. The taste is also not too sweet. I can smell the cream and there bits and pieces of biscuit all over the stick. This is not my favourite Pocky cause I love chocolate more 😁.
3. The almond one smells almondy and buttery. There are bits and pieces of almond all over the coating. It is not too sweet and the balances well with the biscuit stick. I liked it. However, if you have nuts allergy, please give this a pass.

4. The cendol is an exclusive edition for Malaysia. Cendol is an iced  sweet dessert consisting of ice shaving, coconut milk, condensed milk, palm sugar syrup and green rice flour jelly. Hot weather makes it so delicious to eat, accompanied by a plate rojak eaten under a tree beside the road 😁.

This cendol pocky is an amazing find. The whiff of gula melaka and pandan smell greets me when i opened the packet. The green coating represents the green flour jelly in the cendol. It tastes like a combination of palm sugar and coconut milk. As amazing as it is, I still love the real cendol.
5. The double choc Pocky is a chocolate biscuit stick coated with a chocolate dip. The taste is good because the bland and a tiny bit bitter taste of the biscuit balances the sweet chocolate coating. One of my favourite Pocky πŸ’–.

So, there you have it. Try out a Pocky today.

Harrogate Sulphur Soap Review

Hi guys! It has been a long time since I updated this blog! So sorry about that. I am at the end of completing my studies so I hope I can spend some time to do reviews for you guys. :)

(Picture taken from star2.com)
I wanted to try out Harrogate Sulphur Soap ever since I saw a video explaining about the soap by the sole distributor of the product in Malaysia, Harrogate Sulphur Soap (HSS) Bytema Malaysia. I was browsing FB yesterday when I stumbled upon a posting about HSS' anniversary promotion. Since my husband was working in the same area where the showroom is, so I texted my husband to help me get the promotion package! In conjunction with their first anniversary, HSS Malaysia is offering for each purchase of the basic set worth RM250, they will throw in 1 original soap bar, 1 konjac sponge and 1 soap box with the purchase. The promotion ended yesterday, 11th July 2018.

The Harrogate Sulphur Soap is known to have therapeutic and curative qualities, thanks to it's content of active sulphur, which is known as beauty mineral. All of their product line contains sulphur and spring water from Harrogate's famous spa as well as Vitamin E. None of their products contain coal tar, paraben or mercury. The products are suitable for all skin types, even for babies.

So, here are the purchase my husband made for me yesterday.

I tried the Original Sulphur Soap as body soap and the Spring Water Sulphur Soap for my face. Both soaps are oval in shape. The original soap has quite a strong sulphur scent but not too overwhelming. The Spring Water soap has a clean, fresh scent. The soap does not lather much but when used together with the konjac sponge, getting a very rich lather to wash my face was fairly easy. After washing off the lather with water, my skin felt clean but not tight. I will comment again to see how it fares for my super oily skin. To make the soap last longer, I cut the bar of soap into three portions and use one portion while keeping the rest in sealed in a small ziploc bag back into the box,

Next, I used the Original yellow soap for my body. I often have allergic reactions and have itchy patches here and there. So I would like to see if the soap can help to lessen the itchiness. The bar soap lathers the same as the blue one, the soap produces just enough lather and has a smooth glide when lathered up. My skin did felt smoother and not as dry as before. I urged my husband to try out the soap for his use as well since he has eczema. I will update his progress in this blog soon.
For those who are interested in getting the Harrogate Sulphur Soap or other products, you can purchase them at Harrogate Sulphur Soap Bytema Malaysia. Each soap sells for RM55 for 100gm per bar and it comes in 4 scents which is the Original (yellow), Victorian Rose (pink), English Garden (green) and Spring Water (blue).

I will be doing another review on the other products soon. Have a great day ahead peeps! \(^_^)/

Colleen 60 Coloured Pencils No. 785 vs No. 787 Showdown!

Hi peeps! I did a little comparison between Colleen 60 Coloured Pencils No. 785 and No. 787 (because my sister kept asking me what are the difference between these two sets).

To my untrained and unprofessional eyes, there are 47 colour repeats in both sets.

There are two very confusing colours that looked almost similar in shade to each other when compared.
No. 73 and No. 3 was very similar to Red.
Light Blue Green and Cerulean Blue looked the same as No. 42.

There are also some unique colours exclusive to each set.

I hope this comparison will be a little help to those trying to decide which set to purchase. Have a nice day peeps! ( ^_^ )

Colleen 60 Coloured Pencils No. 787 Review

I finally got my hands on Colleen 60 Coloured Pencils No. 787! My sisters and I went a little crazy online and the three of us bought one set each. ( >x< )

This set of colours comes in a cardboard box packaging just like it's sister Colleen 60 Coloured Pencils No. 785. There are 30 hexagonal shaped pencils with dual tips for each one. The pencils came unsharpened just like No. 785. Instead of names of the colours, this set has numbers as colour codes stamped on the left side of the pencil with the first numbers indicates the colour on the left side and the second number for the right side.

The leads on this set are the same as it's sister which makes me quite happy about it since it does not break easily and sharpening them is not a task I dread (except sharpening all 60 tips in one shot!).

These pencil colours are just as good as Colleen No. 785. They glide easily across the paper and blends really well. There are 6 neon colours in this set. I did notice that the lead for the 6 neon pencils are a bit softer and tend to crumble a little when pressured, but still acceptable to me.

The swatches for each side:

In conclusion, I am happy with this set as I am happy with my first Colleen. I would definitely recommend these colour pencils for those colouring fans out there. ( ^_^ )

Colleen 60 Coloured Pencils No. 785 Review

Hi peeps! I had been sleeping far too long from blogging my reviews. Kind of hectic with my little one at home plus commuting like mad all the time does limit my online time. Hopefully things will pick up soon. ( ^_^ )

I had been bitten by the colouring books for adults bug!! And comes with that is the fever of purchasing.. yup, you guessed it! Colour pencils!! Lots and lots of it! ("^.^ ) So for my comeback entry, I will be doing a short review on Colleen 60 Coloured Pencils No. 785.

This set of colour pencils comes in a box. It is actually 30 dual tipped round shaped pencils with each pencil made out of two colours resulting in 60 colours. The pencils came unsharpened. The names of each colour is stamped on each side of the pencils. The pencils were easy to sharpen and I did not get any broken leads whilst sharpening them. Very very happy about that! Nevertheless, sharpening 60 tips of pencils with a little hyper 3 year old is quite some work, I tell you.

Colouring with these are a breeze. The leads are soft and glides easily on paper. The colours are pigmented and they blend quite well too. Even though the leads felt soft as you colour, they do not break easily though except if you sharpen them to a very pointy point, then you might get the normal crumbly tips as you put your pencil to paper.

Here are the swatches of each sides of the colour pencils.

All in all, I am satistified with this set of colours I've got and I might try the neon ones too! ( ^_^ )

The Italees Restaurant @ Bangi Review

I was hankering for Dave's Deli's spaghetti carbonara one day but it was too far away to get so my hubby suggested we go to Bangi and scout out new restaurants to try out. We opted to try and eat at Italees Restaurant since the name did indicate that it's an Italian restaurant.

The front Italees Restaurant @ Bangi.

The restaurant is located in a shop lot area right next to Mohd Chan's Abdullah's restaurant. The seating arrangement is just like any ordinary restaurant would have with a few booths lined up at the right side of the eatery. There was not a lot of customers so we opted to sit at a booth. A waitress came and gave us single laminated sheets of menu each. My heart fell a bit as I scanned the menu and found out that there was no pasta or spaghetti section at all. I asked the waitress and she confirmed that the restaurant did not serve spaghetti nor pasta. Most of the menu listed consist of Malaysian dishes you can get at any restaurants and there was only a teenie weenie section on Western food. Hmm.. maybe the name Italees has some other meaning rather than indicating on Italian cuisines..

After the initial shock webbed away, I decided to order their Chicken Chop with BBQ sauce and my husband asked for their Hainanese Chicken Rice with beansprouts. For drinks, we decided upon Iced  Sprinkled Milo and warm barley.

It didn't take too long for the drinks to come with the Hainanese Chicken Rice. The barley was perfectly brewed making the drink quite enjoyable to drink. The Milo was well.. like Milo. You can never go wrong with Milo unless the mixture is made too thin.

Milo and Warm Barley

The chicken rice was nicely cooked. The rice is not too oily nor too dry. The chicken was very tender and the hainan sauce was not too salty. The beansprout was also very tasty (this coming from someone who does not eat beansprouts!). The only thing I did not like was the chicken broth which I found a little bit bitter. Maybe it was because there was too much parsley mixed into it.

 Hainanese Chicken Rice

The bread was warm and crispy on the outside but very fluffy and soft on the inside. The fries was just okay but the veggies were a bit soggy. The chicken chop was just so-so to me. I did find that some of the fat from the chicken fillet was not fully removed. The BBQ gravy was quite oily and it has a bit of a sour taste to it. The combination of the veggies and the chicken chop did not go too well together. Maybe the chef had an off day that day. The highlight of the dish was the bread because I really enjoyed it. Yum!

Chicken Chop with BBQ sauce
Yummy bread!

Overall, our dining experience was okay. The food had a 50-50 affect on us since we like the chicken rice and the bread, but did not really enjoy the chicken chop. I would really recommend the chicken rice if anyone is up for a dish of Hainanese Chicken Rice.

The set I received.

The scoop.

Ingredients: Hydrolized tilapia collagen peptide, L-Glutathione, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C, Tomato Stem Cell, Apple Stem Cell, Rosella Stem Cell, Maquiberry, Strawberry, Billberry, Papaya, Lemon, Sweet Turnip & Mixed Berries.

Texture: Aura White is a finely milled powder form of collagen mix. The fine powder dissolves completely when shaken/mixed thoroughly with water turning the snowy fine powder into a berry coloured drink.

Smell/Taste: When in powder form, Aura White has this sweet berry smell which is very pleasant. When it has turned into liquid, the sweet berry smell is no longer there but is replaced with a sourish scent. As for the taste, it has a sourish berry taste without any sweetness. Sort of like Ribena without any sugar. It does not leave any bitter or weird after taste. At first I didn't like the taste but after a few days I grew to get accustomed to it and now I kind of like it.

My Current Conclusion
So far I have consumed Aura White for 1 week only and have yet to see any skin improvement. Some testimonies claim that changes can be seen as soon as 7 days and some says in 14 days. So far I haven't seen any changes in my skin texture. The good news is that this supplement does not leave any unwanted side effects (i.e: pimples, drying, itchiness, etc) on me so far and I am thankful for that. I will continue to take Aura White and hope that this will really work wonders on my skin. I will be considering to repurchase this. Will update later ya plus all the pictures of the product!
( ^_^ )

My Final Conclusion
I had been consuming a number of jars of Aura White. I could not say that all the wonders the product does to the skin claimed is untrue but I could also not say that they are true either. I could only conclude that this is basically just a healthy drink. It may suit some people and it may not. It did not work wonders on my skin though. Porcelain flawless skin was nowhere to be seen. It did keep pimples at bay at times. However, it did made my sister's skin supple. All in all, I would conclude that this product is not suitable for me, maybe suitable for some other consumers. So I would not be repurchasing because it is quite pricey for just a healthy drink.

Price:
A jar of Aura White Pure Gluta Collagen 400,000 mg costs RM150.00. Currently it comes free with a shaker and a mask.

Starbuck's Shepherd Pie & Blueberry Cheesecake Review

I love going to Starbucks for occasional pick me up sessions (cannot go there at the moment since I am still in my confinement period!). Whenever I go there, I always seem to order almost the same thing every time which is Caramel Frappucino (nope, not with 7 pumps of caramel syrup added with caramel drizzle in the blend like how my cousin Barneysayz likes it!) accompanied by either a slice of cake or a shepherd's pie. I even influenced my dear husband to buy us a Starbuck's tumbler so that we could get savings whenever we buy our drinks. Seeing that he's the person who jumps on board whenever there's a chance to save a penny or two, he agreed. Hehe..

Starbuck's shepherd's pie happens to be my favourite shepherd's pie of all. I haven't tasted a lot of shepherd's pies but so far, but compared to a couple of places, this is the best one to my liking. The pastry crust of the pie is crisp and cookie like. It is creamy and slightly sweet, a combination that seems to agree with my palate. The beef mushroom filling is not too salty but has a creamy taste to it. The beef is also tender and not too chewy or hard. I find the whipped potato a bit too salty to my liking though but only when I eat it by itself, but when eaten together with the crust and filling, the taste is nicely balanced.
Shepherd's Pie.

The first time I ate Starbuck's Blueberry Cheese Cake, I fell in love with it! The bottom crust is very nice and crumbly and has a sweet taste to it. The cheesecake layer is very creamy and does not make me get the 'I-feel-sick-cause-I-ate-too-much' feeling. It has a very soft texture and melts in your mouth. Yum! The blueberry is usually nice and has that just-right tang of tartness but this time, the blueberry in my cake tasted a bit gassy and sour. An old batch, perhaps? Anyhow, if you get a fresh slice, I am sure you won't regret it.
Blueberry Cheese Cake.

I actually cannot drink coffee because it will give me a big headache but surprisingly, I can take ice-blended coffee, only from Starbuck's! Ya, I am a prat about this, I know. ( _._ ) So whenever I have a hankering for coffee, I always go to Starbuck's and get my favourite drink which is Caramel Frappucino, no whipped cream and extra caramel drizzle. The Mocha Frap is also nice and chocolatey. Yum!!
My favourite Starbuck's drink.

Currently since I am in my confinement period, writing this review about my fav Frap, cake and pastry makes my mouth water. I am so going to get myself to Starbuck's once my 'stay-away-from-ice' period is over! ( o. 0 )

Wadihana Islamic Kitchen Restaurant @ Bangi Review

There are quite a number of new eateries popping out in Bangi recently and my husband and I took our time in trying them out one by one. For dinner one night sometime a few years back, we decided to get a taste of Wadihana Islamic Kitchen that advertised itself to be a place that diners can taste Asian, Western, Italian and Mexican cuisine as well as an array of dessert and pastry.

Wadihana's logo.

Wadihana Islamic Kitchen Restaurant is located at the very end of the same row as Mohd Chan Abdullah's Restaurant. The restaurant is quite spacious with seatings like patio chairs minus the umbrella. On our observation, there are a lot of families eating at this restaurant which I take as a good sign.
Wadihana's front view at night time.
Wadihana Restaurant at day time.

The menu is quite extensive and there are a lot of dishes offered. Seriously they were not kidding when they claim that this restaurant serve a lot of cuisines. You can almost say that this is a fusion eatery where you can get a variety of dishes from various places. For our first time dining here, we opted to try out some 'safe' dishes. For me, as usual I always always want to try out Spaghetti Carbonara and my husband opted to try their Rice with Lemon Chicken (since I looooove lemon chicken!). For drinks, we ordered Teh Tarik and Apple Juice with Asam Boi.

The apple juice with asam boi was a bit sour and the apple juice was a little too thin to my liking. It also tasted a bit bland to me with not enough sweetness. On the other hand, the teh tarik was very nice and it was served in a cute big cup. The balance of the sweetness and the creamines of the milk was just right.

For the carbonara, the spaghetti was not soft. I do believe that it was not given enough time to cook. There was also too much black pepper in the seasoning. That slightly sweet taste that I look for in the creaminess of carbonara was not there and the cream was quite thick and a bit too salty.
Carbonara.

The Lemon Chicken with rice was nicely presented. The rice was served with fish crackers and a small serving of veggies on the side. The lemon chicken gravy was a bit on the sour side.  There was a little bit of a gassy taste to the sauce too. But, when the sour sauced chicken was combined with the rice, the zing of the sourness was somewhat lessened a bit. But still, the taste of the lemon chicken was a bit disappointing to me since it was too sour and gassy.
Lemon Chicken with rice.

For dessert, I chose Pana Cota since it has been a long time since I get to eat one from Fish n Co at One Utama which serves my favourite Pana Cota of all time. The Pana Cota was served with a dollop of whipped cream with a halved strawberry on top and some strawberry sauce. It had a thick and creamy consistency, which is just right for me but alas, t was not too creamy in terms of taste. The combination of the whipped cream made ip for the lack of creaminess in the pana cota itself. Overall, it was just so-so for me and I think I enjoy Fish n Co's Pana Cota better than this one.

Pana Cota

The price for our meal was RM40.70 which I think it's acceptable but since we didn't really enjoy the taste of the dishes, I'd say it was on the high side.

I might go back here if I ever had a crazy craving for Pana Cota or I wanted to try other dishes on the menu.
