NYX Runway Collection 10 Eyeshadows Color Palette Review

My sister and I had an online shopping spree end of last year during the holiday season sales and we got a little carried away buying makeup stuff on sale. My sister bought a NYX Soho Glam Palette (will do swatches later) from Cherry Culture and I decided to try out their Runway Collection 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Romance and also Champagne & Caviar since I prefer natural and neutral colours.

Packaging: The Runway Collection 10 Color Eyeshadow Palettes come in a sleek plastic casing in black, packaged in sleek black boxes. The palettes are very sturdy and looks very chic. The top lid is stamped with NYX's logo and the name of the collection. The bottom of the palette is pasted with a label consisting the choice of palette colour and ingredients. The mirror on the inside of the top lid is very big which is very convenient to use. The palettes comes with a double ended sponge tips. The palette weighs 0.49 oz (14 g) each and they are cruelty free & hypoallergenic.
Chic looking palettes.
Satisfyingly big mirrors.

Ingredients:
Champagne & Caviar: Mica, Talc, Zinc Stearate, Mineral Oil, 2-Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Tridecyl Trimellitate, BHT, Methylparaben, Propylparaben. May Contain: Red Iron Oxide/CI77491, Yellow Iron Oxide/CI77492, Black Iron Oxide/CI77499, Titanium Dioxide/CI77891, Fd&c Red No. 40/CI16035:1, Carbon Black/CI77266.

Romance: Mica, Talc, Zinc Stearate, Mineral Oil, 2-Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Tridecyl Trimellitate, BHT, Methylparaben, Propylparaben. May Contain: CI77491/2/9, CI77891, CI77019, CI16035:1, CI77491, CI77492, CI77499, CI77742, CI42090:2, CI19140:1, CI77007, CI77288.
List of ingredients listed on the back of the palettes.

Texture: The eyeshadows from these palettes are soft and a bit powdery, easy to pick up with a brush and  easy to blend. They tend to be a bit crumbly as well because there's a bit of a fallout when applied due to the soft texture of the eyeshadows. Some of the colours are very pigmented but some comes off as very sheer.

Swatches:
Champagne & Caviar: The colours from the first row are very sheer and needed a lot of layering to get the colour to show on my skin. The second row is a little bit more pigmented. Some of the finishing is matte but most of them are satin and a bit shimmery.
1. Very sheer golden champagne. Slightly frosty finishing.
2. Light brown taupe. Satin finishing.
3. Nude beige. Satin finishing.
4. Light golden beige. Frosty finishing.
5. Warm light brown. Satin finishing.
6. White. Matte finishing.
7. Warm cinnamon brown. Satin finishing.
8. Dark chocolate brown. Matte finishing. Very pigmented.
9. Light pink. Frosty finishing.
10. Black. Matte finishing. Very pigmented.

Romance: Most of the colours in this palette are frosty and a few of them have chunky glitters. The top row consists of sheer shimmery hues and the bottom row are more pigmented frosty bronzes and copper-ish hues.

1. White. Frosty finishing. Has chunky glitter in it.
2. Light golden copper. Satin finishing.
3. Light pink. Satin finishing with a hint of frostiness. Has chunky glitter in it.
4. Dark brown. Satin finishing.
5. Light golden beige. Frosty finishing. Has chunky glitter in it.
6. Terracotta red. Satin bordering to frosty finishing.
7. Smoked topaz. Satin bordering to frosty finishing.
8. Copper. Satin bordering to frosty finishing.
9. Bronze. Satin bordering to frosty finishing.
10. Light ivory. Frosty finishing.

My verdict: The colours from the Champagne & Caviar palette are mostly sheer and very neutral whereas the Romance palette holds a more shimmery hues. In my opinion, the colour payoff is quite minimal on my pasty skin and had to be layered to get a hint of colour to show but I kind of liked them sheer since I prefer neutral and nude looks. I think the intensity of each colour would be better if it is worn over an eyeshadow primer. The eyeshadow do crease at the end of the day unfortunately especially on oily lids. I am on the fence about these eyeshadows. I am not sure when I'll be able to repurchase because right now I have quite a lot of palettes to finish off, but once I do, I just might repurchase them or I might not.

Price: $11 (I got mine for about RM26 during a CherryCulture sale spree via a spreer).

Yves Rocher Sebo Specific 2 in 1 Cleanser + Anti-Imperfection Lotion Review

I am a lazy bum when it comes to applying moisturizer so my skin sometimes becomes dry on certain areas but the cursed t-zone is still oily all the time. So, in my attempt to rectify my laziness and give my skin a little bit of hydration where it is needed, I purchased a bottle of Yves Rocher's Sebo Specific 2 in Cleanser + Anti-Imperfection Lotion which was highly recommended by a friend and the Sales Assistant there. She told me that this cleanser + lotion combo is actually a combination of cleanser/toner and a pore refining lotion/moisturizer. Seeing that it's a simple one step product that covers three steps, I am sold! Plus, it's made for oily/combination skin. ( ^_^ )

Product description: This cleansing lotion is more than perfect for oily and combination skin. It reduces skin blemishes and removes impurities in one go. It's unique creamy milky texture leaves skin matte and fresh. It has double advantage, leaves no greasy film on the skin and does not dry out. Dermatology tested. Scutellaria Baicalensis Root contains molecules called flavonoids which have antioxidants properties. Flavonoids from this plant also has an extraordinary power to brighten the skin from within.

The 2 in 1 Cleanser + Anti-Imperfection Lotion can be used morning and night as a single treatment program tailored for a 1-2-3 clear skin everyday:
1 - Cleanse skin and removes impurities by applying over face with cotton pad, with or without rinsing with water.
2 - Mositurizes the skin in the morning
3 - Optimized night treatment effect.

Packaging: The 2-in-1 Cleanser and Lotion comes in a green translucent triangular plastic pet bottle with a green coloured screw on cap. The product weighs 150 ml. It has a wide opening which allows the lotion to flow out easily from the bottle.

Usage instruction: Use morning and evening with water, avoiding the eye contour. Rinse thoroughly.

Ingredients: Aqua, Alcohol Denat, Butylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol, Hexyl Laurate, Oleth-20, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Salicylic Acid, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Aminomethyl Propanol, PEG-30 Glyceryl Laurate, Parfum, Allantoin, Limonen, Tetrasodium EDTA,  Linalool, Scutellaria Baicalensis Extract, Camellia Sinensis Extract, CI 42090, CI 19140.
Ingredients listed at the back of the bottle.

Texture: The light green coloured cleanser+lotion combo has a very runny liquid-ish texture. It absorbs really well into the skin without leaving any sticky feeling behind (except if you put too much on). There is a slight cool feeling when the lotion is applied on the skin. As a day moisturizer, the lotion do keep my skin matte for a couple of hours before my skin starts to feel oily and sticky again. As an overnight treatment, this lotion performs superbly. I prefer to apply a thick layer on my face before I go to bed. It does feel a little bit sticky because the layer is thick but the effect the next morning when I wake up is just to die for. My skin does not feel greasy at all. The only oily feeling I got was from the residue of the lotion. My skin felt really soft and hydrated after cleansing the residue off. Love!

The liquid texture of the lotion makes it easy to spread evenly.

Scent: The cleanser+lotion combo has a very pleasant subtle sweet leafy smell mixed with a subtle hint of floral scent that is surprisingly not bad at all. It does smell fresh and clean. There is a bit of astringent scent but not too strong.

My verdict: I really like this cleanser+lotion combo as an overnight treatment lotion because it made my skin felt soft and supple the next morning. It is also great to use as a day moisturizer too. The scent is really pleasant and makes me think of things clean and fresh. So far this product didn't give me any blemishes but I don't really notice any difference with my pores. Would I repurchase this? I might, to use as an overnight treatment lotion but I get bored with skincare too fast so I'm on the fence about this one.

Yves Rocher Sebo Specific Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser Review

Just like any other girl, I sometimes like to try out new skin care regime just because I got bored with using the same ones over and over again. But most of the times those new products turns out to be unsuitable for my very finicky skin. I have oily combination skin, so naturally I'd scout for products that can curb my over active oil glands and keep my skin clean and clear. A friend of mine swore by Yves Rocher's Sebo Specific cleanser and recommended me to try it out. Being a product junkie, I went to Alamanda to pick up a bottle.

Description from website: With its special soft texture, Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser is the primary purifying gesture, so vital for oily and combination skins. Combined with the Botanical Flavonoids Complex, its exfoliating microparticles eliminate all traces of impurities and gently clear the pores. Its exfoliating micro-particles gently cleanse the epidermis. The skin breathes again, it is visibly healthy, clean and fresh.

Packaging: The cleanser comes in a translucent green triangular plastic pet bottle with a silver coloured screw on cap. The product weighs 150 ml. The mouth of the bottle is quite large giving the cleanser easy access to flow out from the bottle.

The wide mouth of the bottle makes it easy to pour out the cleanser.

Usage instruction: Use morning and evening with water, avoiding the eye contour. Rinse thoroughly.

Ingredients: Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Propylene Glycol, Urea, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Cocoyl Isothionate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Polyethylene, PEG-30 Glyceryl Laurate, Xanthan Gum, Parfum, Tetrasodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Allantoin, Sodium Hydroxide, Hexyl Cinnamal, Scutellaria Baicalensis Extract, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, CI 19140, CI 42090.
Usage instruction and list of ingredients can be found on the back of the bottle.

Texture: The cleanser has a slightly runny gel-like texture and is translucent green in colour. It felt slightly cool when applied on the skin. It does not foam up and the exfoliating particles are very fine that I can't actually see it but I definitely can feel it as I scrub the cleanser gently on my face. It rinses off with water and leaves my skin feeling refreshed, clean and soft. The cleanser is indeed gentle and there is no tight feeling after my skin had dried.
Pea-sized dollop of cleanser for my whole face.
This is the only amount of foam I got from the pea-sized dollop.

Scent: The cleanser has a very pleasant subtle leafy scent that gives a calming sense as I cleanse my face. I really like the smell because it is really refreshing and reminds me of natural things.

My verdict: I really like this cleanser because it made my skin felt really clean and fresh. It didn't give me any blemishes the first 2 months I've used it but my face began to break out into the 3rd month. I wasn't sure whether it's because of the product or my hormonal change that caused it. I think hormones had a hand in it because the product worked fine for the first 2 months. So now I use this a few times a week when I want to exfoliate my skin. Would I repurchase this? I'm on the fence about this one cause I tend to get bored with skincare products fast.
