I just love anything that have a fresh scent. More so if they are minty. When Yves Rocher opened an outlet at Alamanda Putrajaya, I dragged my husband to the shop to look around and we found some interesting things there to try out. My husband was in search of a new perfume since his had ran out and I was just window shopping hoping to try something new. We tried a couple of EDTs for men plus a few colognes from the Botanical line. I really liked the Bambou Eau De Cologne because it smelled fresh and light when we tested it at the store. I didn't get that Bambou cologne though since I am on a mission to finish off all my current perfume collection, so I settled on purchasing just the body wash.
The Bambou shower gel comes in a 200 ml recyclable clear pet bottle which had a tapering large bottom. The design of the label looked very simple with an illustration of a bamboo shoot and the lettering of 'bambou' across it. The back of the bottle is printed with description and the ingredients of the shower gel in both French and English which promised that the Bambou Shower Gel to be an invigorating all-over foaming gel with Bamboo: the vegetal freshness of green, with a very pleasant fragrance.
The ingredients printed on the back is: Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sufate, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Comcamidopropyl Betaine, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Glycerin, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Parfum, Sodium Chloride, Tetrasodium Edta, Magnesium Chloride, Citric Acid, Allantoin, Polyquaternium-7, Citronellol, Propylene Glycol, Limonene, Benzyl Alcohol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Methylparaben, Bambusa Vulgaris, Xanthan Gum, Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, CI 42090, CI 19140, CI 15985.
The cap of the bottle is green in colour with a pull-off tab. To open the tab, there is a small latch at the middle of the cap needed to be pulled off before the tab could be fully opened.
Interesting colour of green - made me think of things fresh.

Thumbing the small latch up to open the tab.
Hey presto! The tab is opened!
The shower gel had a very runny texture so it poured out of the opening from the cap quite easily. The cap was flat so it got quite a bit messy and some ran down the body of the pet bottle. The colour of the shower gel is light green and translucent.
A pretty and light green coloured shower gel.
The shower gel lathered up quite easily and the foam was quite thin compared to drug store brand of shower gels. Rinsing the suds off left a slippery feeling to the skin making me rinse a bit more to make sure I had all the soapy suds off.
Suds from Bambou shower gel.
The Bambou shower gel had an earthy and clean scent with a hint of muskiness to it. I really felt that it captured the smell of bamboo well because I would have imagined bamboo to smell like this in beauty products. The smell from the bottle was more pungent but it left a more subtle and distant fresh smell on the skin after showering. I guess it has a bit of moisturizing properties as well because my skin felt smooth and moisturized after toweling dry.
My verdict: This shower gel was okay for me but I guess the scent is more suitable for men or women who prefer to have an earthy with a little bit of muskiness scent in their shower gel. Would I repurchase? Maybe for my husband I would.
