W.S Badger Night-Night Balm Review

I have really hyper-active and loud nephews and nieces. They are practically bouncing off the walls especially when they get together. They go nuts! And to make it worse, they tend to sleep late just to extend their playtime. So, I thought the Night-Night Balm would be a great gift for my sister to help calm down her kids to get them to sleep earlier and better. I got one for myself to try it out too (the name Night-Night is just to darn cute!). Hey, if it's good for the kids, it's bound to be great for adults too. hehe..

This is the description of the balm from W.S Badger's official website:
The Night-Night Balm is a natural sleep tight balm for kids and toddlers. The balm to help ease younger minds into the magical realm of the sleep world. For this special child-friendly formula, we chose essential oils that are known to be good for children and are also known to promote feelings of safety, cheerfulness, reverence and calm. Chamomile helps children to calm down and unwind from nighttime activities. Lavender helps children to relax and feel soothed, while Sandalwood instills a feeling of reverence. Mandarin & Spearmint help kids feel safe and uplifted. Rub a little onto temples, neck, lips, wrists or anywhere that will help to diffuse the wonderful aroma into the air around the child. A safe and natural sleep aid for children!

The Night-Night Balm comes in a small round tin weighing 21 g (.75 oz). It has an illustration of a sleeping badger in a flower field under a starry night sky. The base of the tin is dark blue while the lid has a combination of white, light and dark purple. The bottom of the tin is printed with brief usage instruction and list of ingredients.

Usage instruction: Dab a little under nose or use nightly for calming massage.

List of ingredients: *Olea Europaea (Extra Virgin Olive) Oil, *Cera Alba (Golden Yellow Beeswax), *Ricinus Communis (Castor Bean) Oil, *Aloe Barbademsis (Aloe) Extract, Essential Oils of *Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender), Santalum Album (Sandalwood), *Citrus Nobilus (Mandarin), *Mentha Viridis (Spearmint), and *Anthemis Nobilis (Roman Chamomile). (all marked * is Certified Organic).

The Night-Night balm has the same consistency as the other W.S Badger balms which looked hard and waxy but it melts to the touch. The Night-Night balm however has a slightly off-white colour instead of yellow. It has the same slight sticky and oily feeling when applied but it goes away after it has been fully absorbed into the skin.
Pristine looking surface of the Night-Night Balm.

In terms of scent, the Night-Night balm has a soft and soothing scent of lavender and chamomile mixed with herbs and other essential oil. The sandalwood scent is detectable but the mandarin and spearmint scent is quite faint. The scent mixture does gives a calming and soothing sense when I breathed it in. I could say that the scent of the Night-Night balm is a milder version of the Headache Soother balm. It is almost similiar but slightly different.

Massaged in but not yet fully absorbed by my skin.

My verdict: I liked the scent of the Night-Night Balm and it did give a sense of relax and calmness when I am drifting off to slumberland. I did smelled the adult version of the sleep enhancing balm which is the Sleep Balm but didn't quite like the mixture of lavender and bergamot. I did asked my sister did her kids calm down and had a nice and rested sleep after using the balm and she said that they do tend to sleep just a little bit longer. but does not calm down during hyper active play time when their energy is pumped. I think if compared to their aunt, I slept more soundly like a baby! Haha! That's children's hyper energy for ya. I think I would recommend this for those wanting restful sleep and a tin would last quite a long time. I would definitely buy this again. My only gripe is that the prices of W.S Bagder products are waaaay overpriced in Malaysia. It would be a lot cheaper if we purchase them from any spree-er on the Internet and I would definitely do that in future.

You can check out W.S Bagders products at their official website.
I bought mine for RM35 at ISetan KLCC.
